Frequently Asked Questions
Prepare for Your First Consultation
Before we meet, browse our photo gallery and save any homes, features, finishes, or design styles that catch your eye. This helps us better understand your vision and make the most of our time together. We'll discuss: ✓ Homesite or desired location ✓ Utilities and lot conditions ✓ Survey and elevation requirements ✓ Budget and financing options ✓ Site preparation needs ✓ HOA or subdivision restrictions ✓ House plans and design preferences ✓ Timeline and next steps
How much does it cost to build a custom home?
The cost of a custom home depends on factors such as square footage, design complexity, homesite conditions, materials, and finishes. During your consultation, we'll discuss your budget and help develop a plan that aligns with your goals and expectations.
Can Pro One build on land I already own?
Absolutely. Whether you already own property or are in the process of purchasing land, we can build your custom home on your lot and help evaluate site-specific requirements before construction begins.
Do you have homesites available for purchase?
Yes. Pro One Corp offers available homesites throughout the Greater Baton Rouge area, including Baton Rouge, St. George, Prairieville, and surrounding communities. Browse our available lots or contact us to discuss current inventory.
Do I need to have a floor plan before we met?
No. You can choose from our library of floor plans, bring plans you've already purchased, or work with our team and architect to create a fully custom design tailored to your lifestyle and needs.
What can I expect during the custom home building process?
We guide you through every step of the building process—from your initial consultation and design phase to construction, final walkthrough, and move-in day. Our step-by-step process keeps you informed and involved throughout the entire project.
How long does it take to build a custom home?
Every home is unique, so timelines vary based on plan design, permitting, home size, customization, and weather conditions. Once construction begins and the slab is poured, most homes are completed within approximately 5–6 months.
What warranty is included with a new Pro One home?
Every newly constructed home is covered under Louisiana's New Home Warranty Act. In addition, Pro One Corp provides a 1-2-10 warranty program: 1 Year: Workmanship and materials 2 Years: Major systems (plumbing, electrical, and HVAC) 10 Years: Structural defects

Step-by-Step Building Process
01. Initial Consultation and Choose your Homesite
Meet to discuss your homesite, vision, budget, and timeline. Whether it is land you already own, an available lot in one of our communities, or you need help finding the perfect location for your dream home, we're here to help! We will discuss the lot's features and any potential customization options.
02. Design Phase
If you don't already have a house plan, our architect will work with you to create custom plans based on your preferences and requirements or you may choose from our library of house plans.
03. Permits and Approvals
Obtain necessary permits and approvals from our local authorities for construction.
04. Site Preparation and Foundation
Once permits are in place, we’ll prepare the homesite by clearing and grading the land. We then lay the foundation, ensuring it meets all structural and safety standards. This step is crucial as it sets the stage for a stable and secure home.
05. Framing and Structural Work
With the foundation complete, the framing phase begins. During this phase, the skeleton of your home is built, including walls, roof, and floors. This is when your home starts to take shape, and you can begin to see your vision come to life.
06 . Plumbing, Electrical, and HVAC Installation
Next, we install the essential systems that will keep your home running smoothly. This includes roughing in the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. We ensure that everything is set up according to code and with future functionality in mind.
07. Insulation and Drywall
After the structural systems are in place, insulation is added to improve energy efficiency and comfort. Drywall is then installed, creating the interior walls of your home.
08. Interior and Exterior Finishes
This phase involves the installation of flooring, cabinetry, countertops, trim, and other interior finishes. Simultaneously, exterior finishes such as siding, brick, or stone are applied. We focus on every detail to ensure your home is exactly as you envisioned.
09. Final Walkthrough and Inspection
Before you move in, we conduct a final walkthrough and inspection with you to ensure everything meets your expectations and our high standards of quality. We address any last-minute adjustments or touch-ups needed.
10. Move In!
The moment you’ve been waiting for has arrived—your new home is ready! We’ll guide you through the final steps of moving in, ensuring a smooth transition. Our team is on hand to assist with any final details, ensuring your new home is as comfortable and welcoming as you imagined. Now, it’s time to settle in and start making memories in your beautifully crafted space.
